Introduction

The broad and profound traditional Chinese wushu is cultivated as the cultural treasure of the Chinese nation from its diverse cultural uniqueness. Wushu Masters Challenge 2019 will be held from 1 to 4 August, gathering the world’s greatest wushu masters to challenge against one another for the promotion of friendship, as well as the long history of the traditional martial arts. A series of splendid and exciting events will be held, combining the elements of sports, tourism and culture as one of the largest events of the year!

Wushu Masters Challenge 2019 is jointly organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Wushu General Association of Macau, co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Industries Fund, and supported by the International Wushu Federation, the Wushu Federation of Asia and the Chinese Wushu Association. Various activities will be held alternately in several venues in Macao, including the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, Tap Seac Square and Park of Iao Hon Market.

Highly praised across the world from past to present, wushu exemplifies the fascinating charm of the Chinese culture and the sports is actively developing in Macao over the past years. The four-day themed event highlights the three main categories of wushu, namely Dragon and Lion Dance, Taolu and Sanda, which combines the elements of sports, tourism and culture, creating an exciting sports and tourism event. The participation of residents and tourists is encouraged through different forms of wushu events, enhancing their insights and knowledge of the traditional sport, providing a diversified communication platform for wushu enthusiast, to learn and train, as well as exchanging and sharing their experiences in practicing wushu.

The organizers are holding an expansive line-up of wushu activities in different locations to widespread the festive atmosphere to different parts of Macao which residents and tourists will enjoy.
