Public Entities Sports Festival

The purposes of the Public Entities Sports Festival are to collaborate with the Government’s to enhance the overall quality of life of the public and continuously encourage local public institutions workers to actively engage in healthy sports activities during their spare time so as to promote friendship between staff of different departments.

Jointly organized by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau and the Macao Sport Development Board, the 2012 Public Entities Sports Festival was held between May and July. A total of 10 sport events including 7-a-side men’s football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, squash, tennis, bowling, swimming, track and field events and the Macao Public Entities plus 3 recreational competitive activities were featured in this year’s program.

The objective of the Public Entities Sports Festival, which was launched 2003, is to allow members of public entities to foster team spirit and cultivate the habit of exercising regularly through sports competitions. This activity has been well received by the local public entities over the years, with a total of 56 public institutions with close to 2,900 public workers participating in this year’s activity.

After two months of fierce competitions and after the winners of the different competitions had been announced, the Festival came to a successful conclusion at the Indoor Pavilion of the Stadium of the Olympic Sports Centre on July 8th. After another outstanding performance, the Judiciary Police were once again awarded the “Vitality Award”.
