'Sport for All Day' Held in the Second Quarter

Since last June, the Macao Sport Development Board has organized Sport for All Day on a monthly basis in various social communities. The aim of the activities is to enhance the quality of life of local residents and instil the importance of physical education in all social classes. In the second quarter of this year, Sport for All Day was held at the Recreational Area at Rua do General Ivens Ferraz, Fai Chi Kee, Areia Preta Urban Park and Tap Seac Square on 24th April, 23rd May and 19th June respectively. The activities were widely received by local residents who participated wholeheartedly. Each session attracted over 2,500 residents.

The activities featured: students from Sport for All Gymnastic Classes who performed the 16 movements of Taijiquan, family line dance, 13 movements of Taiji sabre, kickboxing, the Yang-style sabre and group aerobics etc, in addition to many interesting booth games with prizes. Participants were enthusiastically involved in the activities and enjoyed the friendly and joyous atmosphere of the day.

With the continuation of Sport for All Day, the organiser hopes to offer opportunities for local residents to experience the enjoyment of sports firsthand, thus arousing a lifelong interest in physical exercise.
