2,000 Senior Citizens and their relatives Enjoy Exercise together

The 2017 Macao Elderly Sports Day took place on 24 September at the Tap Seac Sports Pavilion. It was jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Union of Sports Associations of the Elderly of Macao, and co-organized by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, the Women' s General Association of Macau and the Senior Academy of the Macao Polytechnic Institute. This event attracted over 2,000 participants. Apart from the 8 sports and recreation activities set up on spot, the Health Bureau also established educational stalls with the theme “My Health Depends on me”, so that the elderly could gain general knowledge about health with their relatives, and experienced the joy of physical exercise.
Among the guests at the opening ceremony were: Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau, Chao Sek Kuong, President of the General Union of Sports Associations of the Elderly of Macao, Leong Wai Fong, Director of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions,Lok Lam Tak, Deputy Director of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, Chan Chon Wa, Deputy Director of the Women' s General Association of Macau, Lam Wan Mei, Director of the Seniors Academy, Macao Polytechnic Institute, Lau Cho Un and Lam Lin Kio, Vice Presidents of the Sports Bureau, Director Chan Iok Wai, representative of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Leong Chong Leng and Ng Iat On, members of the Sports Committee, and Mok Kam Pui, Vice President of the Macau General Volunteers Association of Macao.
