Falcon Sports Club won the Hockey Champion again after five years

In the 2017 Hockey League, no one knew who would win the champion until the last minute of the match! Falcon Sports Club won the last match in the evening of 12 April, and defeated Melhor Atirador by 3:0. Falcon finished the competition with 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss (23 points), and crushed the team Iao Lok's last hope to defend the champion. Wong Weng Po, who is the team leader of the Falcon Sports Club since it was established, admitted: “This resulted from the efforts that the whole team had made. The result was very good. As I counted, I think it has been five seasons since the team won the champion last time, but now we can get back the champion that we have lost for long time. Indeed, ‘God helps those who help themselves' ”

Having taken the lead again by defeating Lusitania in the last match, Falcon did not afford to lose again when they were facing Melhor Atirador. At the beginning of the match, they rushed to attack actively, although they did not score in the first half of the match. During the second half, Falcon kept dominating over their opponent. At the 41st minute, Leong Io Chong, after catching the hockey passed by a teammate, shot near the goal and broke the deadlock. Falcon kept fighting hard even in the last section. Then they shot twice again by counterattacks. Eventually they defeated Best Shooters by 3:0, finishing the competition in this season with 23 points, and winning back the champion which they had lost for over 5 years.

Iao Lok, who failed to defend the champion, defeated Le Club, who was at the bottom of the list, by a landslide with 9:1 in the last match. They also beat Lusitania, who got the same score, with higher goal difference and won the Runner-up.

In this season, the champion team of the Hockey League fought until the last round. Lusitania, who had lost their advantage and become defensive, fought hard in the last match. They beat Palmeiras with 2:1 after lagging behind them by 1 point. Lusitania ranked the third with 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses (22 points). Palmeiras finished the competition with 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses (13 points) and ranked the fourth.
