Macau Youth Sport Academies Started Selection

Macau Youth Sport Academies jointly run by Macao Sport Development Board, Macau Football Association, Macau Ping Pong Association, Macau Bowling Association and Macau Tennis Association organized selections respectively.


On November 29th, Bowling Youth Academy held “Fun Day of Selection” at Bowling Centre. The event attracted about 70 young boys and girls (born between 2000 and 2009). Activities included: sharing the fun of bowling, showing bowling skills, and learning by bowling, etc.


On November 29th, Tennis Youth Academy held “Selection Day”, attracting about 130 young boys and girls (born between 2002 and 2011). With coaches' tutorship, they went through tests in groups. Test items included speed, reaction, and dexterity, etc.


On December 5th, Ping Pong Youth Academy held “Selection Day” in Stadium B of Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, attracting about 250 young boys and girls (born between 1999 and 2008). As arranged by coaches, they went through tests of basic skills, speed, reaction and dexterity in groups.


On December 12th, Football Youth Academy held “Selection Day” at the Olympic Sports Centre - Miniature Football Field. It attracted over 500 youngsters. They went through tests of dribbling, passing, reaction and playing matches in groups.


Through organizing such selection activities, organizers intend to cultivate youth's interest in sports and on the other hand, to select youngsters with potential into sport academies as talent base for Macao's sports indutsry.
