China and Belgium team met Macao citizens and volleyball fans

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2016, organized by Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and Volleyball Association of Macao, China and presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will commence at the Macao Forum on 17 June.  The four participating teams – Brazil, Belgium, China and Serbia – are undergoing final preparations for the upcoming matches. 

Members of the China and Belgium team also attended a promotional event at the St. Dominic’s Square today and were warmly greeted by the enthusiastic citizens and volleyball fans.  They also visited the Ruins of St. Paul’s, the most famous landmark in Macao.  In addition, Charlotte Leys and Lise Van Hecke from Belgium and Zeng Chunlei from China signed autographs on volleyballs which were then presented to the Organizing Committee and the presenting sponsor Galaxy Entertainment Group.

Honorable guests present at the promotional event included President of Sports Bureau Pun Weng Kun; Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of Galaxy Entertainment Group Buddy Lam; Competition Director Alice Fong; China coach Lang Ping and team manager Lai Yawen; Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek and team manager Raf Vekemans.

The fixtures of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2016 are as follows (date and local time):

  • 17 June: 1600 Brazil v Serbia, 2000 China v Belgium;
  • 18 June: 1430 Brazil v Belgium, 1700 China v Serbia;
  • 19 June: 1300 Belgium v Serbia, 1530 China v Brazil.

Tickets for the matches are in hot demand, with those for the final day (19 June) already sold out and a limited number remaining for 17and 18 June.  The remaining tickets (MOP150.00 for each day, free-seating) can be bought from OK convenient stores in Macao or online at www.macauwgp.com.  Volleyball fans worldwide are looking forward to witnessing exciting actions as the teams are contesting for the title and gearing up for the Rio Olympics.
