Macao Sport Development Board Plans for Energy Conservation & Emission Reduction of Affiliated Sports Facilities

The Macao Sport Development Board (MSDB) has entrusted a professional consulting firm to study and plan a series of energy-conservation and emission-reduction measures at its affiliated sports facilities in order to fully implement its policy principles and constantly optimize the service levels of public facilities. The specific measures are devised on the basis of energy utilization efficiency, water usage efficiency, indoor environment quality, green venue management and operations, and other eco-friendly technologies, etc.

On 16th June, the representatives of the entrusted professional firm were especially invited to hold a seminar on “Marching toward a Green Venue” for the relevant staff members of MSDB. On one hand, the participating staff could gain an understanding  on the trend of environmental protection and energy conservation measures at sport venues. On the other hand, the experts were able to explain to staff members the various items that needed attention at the operational sites during the conduct of the study.

Besides providing continuous training to its staff, MSDB hopes to employ the energy conservation and emission reduction measures devised through the study to optimize the operating modes at its affiliated venues, to achieve a rational and recycling utilization of resources, to guarantee a sustainable development of venues and to realize the goal of “green management”.
