Sport for All Day Held in the First Quarter of 2011

The Sport for All Day is organized by the Macao Sport Development Board at different public sports and recreation facilities or parks once every month in an effort to bring sport to every community, publicize and promote sport for all, and encourage Macao residents to participate in sports activities on a regular basis. Through the various awarded sports games and demonstration performances, the Sport for All Day aims to stimulate the public interests in sport and promote the popularization of sport for all through a relaxing and lively atmosphere

The Sport for All Day of the first quarter this year were held at the Areia Preta Urban Park and the Iao Hon Garden respectively. Several fun sports games with prizes, including soft power ball, rope skipping, croquet, fun golf and table tennis, were organized to let Macao residents experience the pleasure of sport in person. In addition, the teachers and students from the Sport for All Fitness and Recreation Classes were invited to perform Tai Chi, line dance, sports dance, Tai Chi Fan and other various sport exercises, residents who were interested were encouraged to join in, allowing them to learn about the correct methods when performing the exercises so as to conduct physical training in a more effective manner and to strengthen their physical quality and improve their health in general. The event was very popular among the exercisers and the residents at large, attracting more than 7,200 participants in total.
