‘Public Sports Facilities Network’ Introduces New E-Payment Service

For years, the Macao Sport Development Board has maintained its philosophy of putting people first and serving the public. Apart from the ongoing effort to seek out more venues for exercise, the Board has proactively responded to the needs of the public for individual booking, in the hope of providing more comprehensive and convenient services through the optimisation of the Public Sports Facilities Network by different means.

To encourage citizens’ further participation in exercise and their engagement in a healthy lifestyle, the Board has taken the opportunity to popularise electronic services in order to keep simplifying the procedures for sports venue booking. Since 2012, it has gradually added an electronic payment system as a payment method for its sport facilities. Currently, these payment services are available in the following seven sports facilities: Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion – Table Tennis Zone (Lobby Area), Tamagnini Barbosa Sports Centre, D. Bosco College Sports Centre, Olympic Sports Centre - Aquatic Centre and Badminton Zone, Carmo Swimming Pools, and Bowling Centre.

Moreover, the Board has actively introduced additional electronic services: in April 2015, the payment service for venue booking with ‘Quick Pass’ was added to the seven sports facilities installed with the e-payment system, providing the public with more options for payment apart from cash and Macau Pass, so that they can enjoy more high-quality services through convenient diversified measures.

With the optimising services of the Public Sports Facilities Network, the Board will continue to develop more convenient measures to cope with the needs of the public and the development of society, and to perfect and simplify the relevant service network, thereby encouraging more citizens to participate in sports and exercise their bodies.
