Series of Coach Training Courses Successfully Concludes

Organised by Macao Sport Development Board, and with the curriculum designed and supervised by Beijing Sport University, the ‘Series of Coach Training Courses’ held its graduation ceremony on 14th March 2015 at Beijing Sport University. Mr. Lao Cho Un, Vice-President of Macao Sport Development Board; Mr. Chi Jian, Vice-President of Beijing Sport University, and instructors and coaches who participated in the courses attended the graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, the persons-in-charge of both parties encouraged the students to apply their knowledge to work, in order to further promote sports development inMacao; Mr. Chi Jian also presented the certificates of completion to the coaches.

The first unit of ‘Series of Coach Training Courses’ began in October 2013, while the seventh unit was completed in March this year. The lessons of the first six units were conducted inMacaowhilst the last unit was conducted inBeijing. The curriculum covered the latest sports training information, including sports training theory, team management, scientific talent selection, training supervision, psychological training, physical training, special training and so on. Twenty-five sports associations enrolled in the courses with a total of 552 attendants in the 7 units. Through the teaching of 7 units, the training courses have achieved preliminary expected results.

The ‘Series of Coach Training Courses’ aims at updating the knowledge and training methods of local coaches through systematic and ongoing training, providing them with the latest development in sports science technology, enhancing their theoretical knowledge and application capacity concerning skills, strategies and daily training plans, so that athletes can access more scientific and systematic training.

On the basis of the abovementioned series of courses, Macao Sport Development Board will continue to organise training course for coaches, and develop training for sports management personnel and referees, in order to develop and sustain the sports talent cultivation project.
