China Disabled Persons’ Federation Paid a Visit to Macao

To effectively carry out the virtue and spirit of the “Cooperation Agreement on Joint Promotion of Projects for the Disabled” signed by the Macao SAR Government and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF) and the China Foundation for Disabled Persons, Mr. Jia Yong, Deputy Director General of CDPF was invited by the Macao Sport Development Board and thus led a delegation of more than 20 representatives of disabled persons’ units and training centers from over 10 provinces for exchange visit in Macao during April 5th  8th, as well as to attend the Macao Sports Day for the Disabled held on April 7th.

The purpose of the exchange visit was mainly to implement the “Joint promotion of sport development projects for the disabled” under the framework of the cooperation agreement, thereby increase mutual understanding, exchange and learning so as to foster the relationship among sports organizations for the disabled in Mainland and Macao. The  delegation received warm reception while they were visiting the venues of the Macao-China Paralympic Committee, the Service Centre for the Deaf and the Day Activity and Vocational Training Centre for Mentally Handicapped Persons of the Macao Special Olympics, wherein deepened their knowledge and understanding towards the daily life of the Macao’s disabled persons.

In days to come, Macao shall work hand in hand with China to strengthen the joint promotion of sport development projects for the disabled in organizing a series of training exchange programs and sports activities in order to pave the way for the future prospective development of people with disabilities in Macao.
