To spice up the festive atmosphere at the event, a dragon boat themed family carnival will take place at the same venue on 20 June (Saturday). All are welcome to enjoy the festival together.

This year’s event includes a family carnival themed around dragon boat racing, which features a variety of fun-packed booth games. To better control the flow of visitors, the carnival will be split into four sessions, with the first from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., the second from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., the third from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. and the fourth from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Interested residents may access the registration system through the ‘Macao Major Sporting Events’ page on Facebook or the official WeChat account of Macao Major Sporting Events from 10 a.m. on 17 June. A total of 200 places are on offer for online registration of each session of the carnival, and on-site registration is also available. Those who successfully register are required to arrive at the venue according to the time of the selected session and may enter the carnival after presenting a QR code to the staff. The Organising Committee reminds all visitors that they must undergo body temperature checks, present the ‘Macao Health Code’ and wear face masks.

To share the festive joy with the public, this year’s event will present not only a family carnival, but also performances and booths for creative products and local cuisines. With the dragon boat races and the carnival, visitors will gain an authentic experience of Macao's dragon boat festival celebrations and the event will establish itself as a unique brand of sports tourism in Macao and facilitate the diverse development of the city’s sports sector.

In compliance with anti-pandemic guidelines, this year the Organizing Committee will implement a series of preventive measures during the Races. During the preparation process, the Organising Committee will pay close attention to the latest information on the pandemic and develop appropriate measures and arrangements for the event accordingly.
