Registration for the 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K starts on 6 and 7 March

The 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, will be held on 11 April. Two race categories will be held, namely 10K and Fun Run, with a total of 10,000 places available. Registration starts at 9am tomorrow (6 March) for the 10K, and at 9am on Sunday (7 March) for the Fun Run. Participants may register at the event’s website www.macao10k.com or in person at Pavilion B of Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. Online and on-site registration will commence at the same date and time and will be closed when all places are taken.

The Fun Run will start at 7am and the 10K race at 7:30am; both races start at Sai Van Lake Square, pass by the Sai Van Bridge and finish at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium. The two races are divided into male and female groups; the 10K race is open to participants aged 18 years or above, and the Fun Run is for participants aged 15 years or above.

Registration will start from this weekend: for the 10K race at 9am on 6 March (Saturday), for the Fun Run on at 9am on 7 March (Sunday).  6,000 and 4,000 places are available for the 10K and the Fun Run, respectively.  Online and on-site registration will commence at the same date and time and will be closed when all places are taken.  The registration fee for each race and participant category is as follows:

For online registration, registrants may visit www.macao10k.com to start the registration process. Macao International Marathon account holders must use their existing account to register for this event.  Users who have already opened an account but have forgotten their username and password may reset the password on the event’s website. New registrants who do not have an existing account may open one on the website. Participants should input their personal information as well as an electronic copy of their identification document for registration purpose. Visa, Mastercard, China UnionPay and BOC NET (for Bank of China Macau Branch account holders only) are accepted for registration fee payment.

Registrants who opt for on-site registration may proceed to Pavilion B of the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 9am to 6pm on 6 and 7 March and should bring along the completed registration form, a copy of their identification document and the registration fee. For a trouble-free on-site registration, each person may submit a maximum of 15 registration forms each time; cash in Macau patacas or Hong Kong dollars (no exchange rate difference will be refunded) as well as Macau Pass and MPay are accepted.   In compliance with anti-pandemic guidelines, all on-site registrants must undergo body temperature check, present a valid ‘Macao Health Code’ and a wear face mask upon entering the venue.  During the registration process, registrants should also follow the instructions of the staff and keep appropriate distance from other people.

Measures will be adopted according to the pandemic situation

In order to provide safe conditions for the participants, the Organizing Committee will follow the anti-pandemic guidelines issued by the Health Bureau and request participants to show proof of a valid negative COVID test result on the race day.  Further details relating to this arrangement will be announced in due course.  In addition, the Organizing Committee will pay close attention to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and will adopt preventive measures according to the guidelines issued by the Health Bureau.

The Organizing Committee reminds all participants that they must comply with Macao’s Law No. 2/2004 on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, pay attention to and cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures of the Macao SAR Government. By submitting the registration form, participants clearly understand and agree to cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures of the Macao SAR Government. No cancellation or refund will be allowed for confirmed registrations.

The Organizing Committee also advises participants to prepare and practice for the event based on their own physical conditions, and to read the guidelines and regulations carefully.
