Teams gear up for FIVB World Grand Prix Macao
2013-08-01

Bulgaria, China, Cuba and the Netherlands are undergoing final preparations as they seek form ahead of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2013, presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group.

The four participating teams have all taken training sessions at the Macao Forum, the competition venue of the Macao leg.  Meanwhile, the local organizing committee and FIVB delegates are also working closely together to ensure smooth operations of this highly anticipated event.

As a mean to promote World Grand Prix fever in the city, the local organizers have also arranged an exchange event for some local teenagers with the China team.  Led by head coach Lang Ping and joined by players including Liu Xiaotong, Yao Di and Qiao Ting, the teenagers were taught various volleyball skills and played in a friendly match with the players.  The enthusiastic teenagers were all thrilled with the opportunity to receive professional advice as well as meeting their favorite players.

The first match day of the Macao leg on 2 August will see the contest of two former World Grand Prix champions, Cuba and the Netherlands, whilst host China will then take on debutant Bulgaria.
