In order to meet the enthusiasm and expectation of Macau residents on the demand of the Opening and Closing Ceremony tickets, Macau Sport Development Board has continuously consulted with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (shortened as BOCOG) over the increase in the ceremonial ticket quota being allocated to the Special Administrative Region of Macau.

As informed by BOCOG, 15 tickets from each of the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony will be allocated to the Official Ticket Agent of Macau S.A.R.. This limited quantity of seats are offered in terms of Venue Suite, therefore, Macau Sport Development Board intends to distribute the tickets to residents of Macau with the price level of category A, that is, RMB 5,000 for the Opening Ceremony and RMB 3,000 for the Closing Ceremony. ( The RMB conversion rate will be in accordance with the exchange rate of Macau Pataca to Renminbi announced by the Bank of China Limited Macau Branch as at 9 am on date of Ticket Draw Ceremony).

Starting from today to Tuesday, 8 July 2008, between 4 pm and 8 pm, residents of Macau can apply for the tickets by going to the Ticket Ordering Station in the Headquarter of Macau Sport Development Board and filling in the application form accordingly . In order to distribute the tickets in an equal, fair and open manner, the tickets of Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be distributed through a Ticket Draw Program. Therefore, the above tickets will be once again available for application from all residents of Macau.

Those who had previously submitted their Application Form for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies but not distributed with any ceremonial tickets will automatically enter into this Ticket Draw Program.

At 5 pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2008, a computerized random ticket draw ceremony will be held in the meeting room of Macau Sport Development Board. All public is invited to witness and participate in this Ticket Draw Ceremony.

The results of this Ticket Draw Ceremony will be announced on spot and publicized in all local newspapers, the website of Macau Sport Development Board www.sport.gov.mo, and the Headquarter Ticket Ordering Station on Thursday, 10 July 2008.
