Things to Know About the Recruitment for Volunteers for
the Beijing Olympic and Paralympics Games
in Macau

Please read the General Policy for Volunteers for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympics Games, Guide to Application, Instruction, and the Privacy Policy Statement before submitting your application.
** Applicants with a Macau residental address should fill in "00" in the field "postal code" in the Home address section, please do not leave it blank otherwise your application will not be accepted.
1. Macau residents should hold one of the following identification documents for application:
- Macau SAR identity card
- Macau SAR passport
- Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
2. Application: Via online application only .
3. Application Period:
From now until the end of March 2008.
4. Selection criteria:
The Beijing Olympic Games volunteers¡¦ recruitment process shall follow the general admission conditions established by the respective Games Organizing Committee and may also require the collaboration of the candidates themselves. During the filtering process the Organizing Committee will give special relevance to the following attributes: the level of knowledge and acquaintance with Mandarin and other foreign languages (especially those in which the Organizing Committee feels there is a shortage of human resources), the skills in language interpreting, professional and technical expertise, the availability of the candidate and the experience in similar services. Besides these, attendance in the training programs and examination results will also be considered relevant. |
5. Selection procedure:
- The candidates whose enrollment forms have been accepted shall be submitted to the training courses and to written examinations;
- Evaluation and analysis of the documents submitted by the approved candidates at the completion of the courses;
- The candidates who are considered apt to exercise volunteering functions shall be interviewed;
- The list of approved candidates shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee; and
- The Organization Committee shall confirm the list of selected candidates, which shall be published this coming May.

7. Others:
- Applicants shall ensure the validity of their identification documents during the volunteer service.
- Before receiving the admission notice, applicants shall submit all the documents required for the admission.
