Hosts China arrived in Macao to prepare for FIVB WGP Macao 2016

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2016, organized by Sport Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and Volleyball Association of Macao, China and presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be held at the Macao Forum from 17 to 19 June.  Hosts China arrived in Macao today after winning the Ningbo leg to prepare for the upcoming matches.

China, winners of the Montreux Volleyball Masters earlier this month, kept most of their players from the squad that won the Ningbo leg. One key change was made as they welcome back experienced wing spiker Hui Ruoqi who replaced Liu Xiaotong.  Together with form players Gong Xiangyu, Ding Xia and Lin Li as well as key players Zhu Ting, Zhang Changning, Yuan Xinyue and Xu Yunli, the hosts are close to their full strength.  With the support of the local fans, China are aiming to extend their winning streak and to make the best use of this opportunity to undergo preparations for the Rio Olympics.

The fixtures of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2016 are as follows (date and local time):

  • 17 June: 1600 Brazil v Serbia, 2000 China v Belgium;
  • 18 June: 1430 Brazil v Belgium, 1700 China v Serbia;
