China and Japan arrive in Macao to prepare for FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2014, sanctioned by FIVB, organized by Macao Sport Development Board and Volleyball Association of Macao, China and presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be held at the Macao Forum from 15 to 17 August.  The four participating teams – China, Japan, Korea and Serbia – are contesting for the crown of the Macao leg as well as a place in the Finals.  China and Japan arrived in Macao today after finishing the Hong Kong leg, and received a warm welcome by the local Organizing Committee and enthusiastic volleyball fans.

Japan was the first team to arrive in the city followed by China.  Led by coach Lang Ping and captain Hui Ruoqi, the home team seeks to build momentum after winning the Hong Kong leg.  Korea and Serbia will arrive tomorrow (12 August) as all teams undergo their final preparations.  In addition, members of the China team will take part in an exchange event with some local teenage volleyball players tomorrow.

The fixtures of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2014 are as follows (date and local time):

  • 15 August 2014: 1700 Japan v Serbia, 2030 China v Korea;
  • 16 August 2014: 1430 Japan v Korea, 1700 China v Serbia;
  • 17 August 2014: 1300 Korea v Serbia, 1530 China v Japan.
