China and USA team met Macao citizens and volleyball fans

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2017, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Volleyball Association of Macao, China and presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), kicks off at the Macao Forum on 14 July.  The four participating teams – China, Italy, Turkey and USA – are undergoing final preparations for the upcoming matches.

Members of the China and USA team also attended a promotional event at the Leal Senado Square today and were warmly greeted by the enthusiastic citizens and volleyball fans.  In addition, captain of the two teams – Zhu Ting of China and Carli Lloyd of USA, signed autographs on volleyballs which were then presented to the Organizing Committee and the presenting sponsor GEG.

Honorable guests present at the promotional event included President of the Sports Bureau Pun Weng Kun; President of the Volleyball Association of Macao, China Chan Mun Fong; Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG Buddy Lam; China coach An Jiajie and team manager Lai Yawen; USA coach Karch Kiraly and team manager James Stitz.

The fixtures of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao 2017 are as follows (date and local time):

  • 14 July: 1600 Turkey v USA, 2000 China v Italy;
  • 15 July: 1430 Italy v USA, 1700 China v Turkey;
  • 16 July: 1300 Italy v Turkey, 1530 China v USA.

Match tickets are in hot demand with those for 15 and 16 of July sold out and a limited number remaining for 14 July. The remaining tickets (MOP150.00 single-day, free-seating) can be bought from OK convenient stores in Macao or online at www.macaowgp.com.
