Owing to the effect of the Typhoon Hato, sport facilities under the Public Sports Facilities Network of the Sports Bureau were damaged to different extent, and some were gradually reopened to the public from August 29.
After the repairs, sports facilities including Olympic Sports Centre - Hockey Field (Artificial Grass Field), Sports Ground at Veng Neng(Basketball Field) and Sports Ground at Hac-Sa Beach(Ball Games Field and Basketball Field), will be reopened to the public from 11 October (Wednesday). As electricity equipment of Hac-Sa Beach (Basketball Field) is still under maintenance, opening hours will be limited from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please refer to the attached document for a full list of all the reopening facilities.
As the grand stand of the University of Macau Stadium (N9) and the Football and Athletics Field of Macao University of Science and Technology were damaged seriously, the athletics track, grass football field, tennis courts and volleyball field of UM Stadium (N9), the athletics track and the grass football field of Football and Athletics Field of Macao University of Science and Technology were also affected. The Sports Bureau will continue to coordinate with University of Macau and Macao University of Science and Technology on the progress of various maintenance works, provided that normal operation can be resumed when safety of all facility is assured. Moreover, the repairs project for the fence of the Tennis Academy and Macao Tower sports ground was started, while material production and shipment are in progress, the facility will be reopened to the public after the completion and testing of installation and equipment.
The Sports Bureau has been giving special attention to the repairs of the affected sport facilities and putting into great efforts to resume operation of the facilities so that public can continue sport practice to strengthen physical fitness.
