Sichuan and Macao Youth Sports Exchange Activities

In order to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in the field of sports between Sichuan province and the Macao S.A.R, the Sichuan Sports Board organized a five-day “Sichuan and Macao Youth Sports Exchange Activities” visit from the 23rd to the 27th of November, for four sports delegations comprising young martial arts, table tennis, badminton and synchronised swimming athletes, respectively.

This event was carried out within the framework of the “Letter of Intent on Co-operation and Exchange in Sports between Sichuan and Macao” which was signed by the two Sport Governing Bodies in 2009. In addition to strengthening the exchanges between young athletes, it also aims to promote the development of sports through mutual visits and contacts, with the young athletes learning from each other enhancing their bonds of friendship.

During their visit, the 30 member group gave synchronized swimming and martial arts demonstrations and played ping-pong and badminton with the young athletes from Macao. The exchange group also observed the training session of athletes from Macao.
