Sport for All Day 2011

August 8th is a special day as it has been designated as the National Fitness Day of China to commemorate the successful completion of the Beijing Olympics. This day has been celebrated since 2009 and it is hoped through the celebration of this day to encourage the people to change their lifestyle and to cultivate the concepts of living healthily by exercising and doing sport.

To show support for such a meaningful event and to complement its activities, Macao Sport Development Board held its monthly Sport for All Day on August 7th at the Bacia Norte do Patane - Recreational Area .

At the site, several kiosks were set up with fun and  sport-related activities with prizes.  The instructors and students from the Sport for All Fitness and Recreation Classes were invited to perform various sports exercises, attracting the participation of many citizens.  Many parents took part in the games with their children and the event was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere.

Macao Sport Development Board is devoted to promoting the popularization of sport for all, encouraging Macao residents of various age groups, in particular the inactive middle-aged population and the working population to participate in sports and other exercise-related activities for better and healthier living.
