Sport for All Day

“Sport for All Day” is held on a monthly basis in various social communities by the Macao Sport Development Board, for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life of local residents to disseminate the important message of sports and exercise, to encourage citizens’ participation in sports and to achieve the goal of lifelong exercise. This event features a series of sports demonstration and performances presented by instructors and students from the Sport for All and Recreation Classes, as well as a dozen stalls of sports games with prizes. A lot of residents, especially parents with their children were attracted to join in the activities, which enabled them to participate in and to realize the joy of exercising. Aside from the family happiness they shared, it is also a good chance for children to cultivate the habit of exercising, which can strengthen not only their body, but also their immunity system.

In the year of 2010, “Sports for All Day” was held in the following different places: Areia Preta Park (behind the Health Center), Iao Hon Market Garden, Recreation Area at Rua do General Ivens Ferraz, Tap Seac Plaza, Flower City Garden (Rua de Seng Tou) and Recreation Area at Bacia Norte do Patane. These activities were well supported by the public. On average there are 2000 people at each event and the total number of participants of the year amounts to 28,300.

Through the above activities, the organizer hopes to provide an opportunity to the public to do exercises and enjoy sports, so as to raise their awareness for participation in sports. The goal is to instill sports into a part of the public’s leisure time and to achieve “Exercise together to build a healthier body”.
