Exchange Activities between “The 16th Asian Games” Macao Wushu Team and Local Schools

The Macao Wushu Team won a glorious victory in “The 16th Asian Games”, with Jia Rui clinching the historical first gold medal for Macao in the Daoshu & Gunshu All-Round category. After their triumphant return to Macao, the Wushu Team participated in a series of exchange activities with local schools including the Macao Kung Luen Vocational & Technical Middle School, the Workers’ Children High School (secondary school section), the Hou Kong Middle School and the School of Application affiliated annexed to the University of Macao, and they were welcomed by the teachers and students enthusiastically.

During the activities, coach Cheng Tit Meng shared about his own story and that of Jia Rui in lively words. With his profound knowledge, he advised the youngsters to treasure their time, be determined and be perseverant. Only by doing so, they could achieve their goals in life. The gold medalist Jia Rui also shared his 7-year personal experiences in Macao with the students. He shared with them his experiences in competitions and the diligent trainings undertaken to achieve the gold medal in the Games. He encouraged the students not to be afraid of failure, and should do their upmost to achieve their goals.

Moreover, Jia Rui also demonstrated wushu taolu routine during the school visits, and received with rapturous applause and cheers from the students.
