Let’s All Participate in ‘Sport for All Day’

    To meet with the increasing demand for physical fitness and good health among the general public, the State Council designated 8th August as ‘Sport for All Day” in order to disseminate information to the public about the value of health in the spirit of promoting sports for everybody, to promote healthy living and impart the concept of jointly engaging in physical exercise.

    The Macao Sport Development Board has been committed to promoting sports for all, in order to enable Macao residents to achieve optimal physical and mental health, lead a meaningful life and promote social harmony through participating in sports activities. In response to and coordinated with the highly significant ‘Sport for all Day’, the Board specially held a series of “Sport for All” activities on 8th August. The activities included the ‘Sport and Health Consultation Services’ held at the Amigos do Jardim Triangulo in Areia Preta and ‘Sport for All Day’ at the Flower City Garden at Rua de Chengdu. Through this series of activities, the Board sought to promote the fun of sports, stimulate interest in participating in physical exercise and building good habits of exercise.

    Furthermore, the individual booking timeslots for the affiliated facilities of the Macao Sport Development Board as well as the four swimming pools and the recreational facilities in Hac Sa Park managed by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, – were open to the public for free on 8th August. The initiative was proven to be a great success, attracting a large number of residents to conduct physical exercises.
