Macao Won 1 Silver and 4 Bronzes in Asian Cup Cadets & Junior Held in Macao and Hong Kong

The Asian Cup Cadets & Junior Macau 2019 - World Ranking & Olympic Qualification Event, hosted by the Macau Judo Association and sponsored by the Sports Bureau took place from July 6 to 7 at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. From July 13 to 14, the Asian Cup Cadets & Junior Macau 2019 - World Ranking Event - Hong Kong was held. In these two events, Macao athletes won 1 silver and 4 bronzes in total.

In the youth event, Kuok Lai Iong defeated a Hong Kong contestant Cheung Weng Lam during the“golden overtime”of the first match in the women's 70-kilogram round robin. In the final, she competed a contestant from Chinese Taipei Liu Li-ling, who had an advantage with her body shape. Eventually, Kuok Lai Iong was defeated by Liu Li-ling with an“ippon”in the last minute and was in the second place, winning a silver medal for the Macao delegation.

The event held in Hong Kong took place from July 13 to 14 at Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre. Sixteen countries and regions dispatched approximately 300 athletes in total to compete in the event. Macao sent 16 athletes, including both male and female, and they won 4 bronzes in total. Kuok Lai Iong won a bronze in the women's 70-kilogram class. Chan Iek Lok won a bronze in the men's youth 60-kilogram class. Lei Cheng I defeated a Korean contestant with excellent techniques and won a bronze in the women's youth 48-kilogram class. Ng Lei Wai defeated a contestant from Hong Kong and won a bronze in the men's youth 66-kilogram class.
