300 Participants Enjoy Macau Football Day

As Macao First division Football League and Football Association Challenge Cup (FA Cup) 2018 concluded successfully, the Macao Football Association held the 9th of Macau Football Day and the awarding ceremony for Macao First Division Football League Top Footballer Awards 2018 on July 22 at the stadium of the Olympic Sports Centre. There were 300 participants in this event, where the atmosphere was lively. 

In the morning of the Fun Day, the Football  Association organized a grassroots football activity. Participants enjoyed very much and hoped that the Football Association can hold similar activities regularly. In the afternoon, 9-a-side football competitions were held with open registration so that football enthusiasts could register and participate. In addition, a number of friendly matches were also arranged. In the friendly matches, guest teams from the sports sector, the Macao Sports Press Association, Macao Senior Footballer Association, Macao women's team, Macao team 1990, registered coach team, guest teams and teams invited by the Football Association competed against one another in turns, where peers in the football field could enjoy themselves. 

In the“Macao First Division Football Stars Election”, which was jointly organized by the Macao Football Association and Macao Sports Press Association, Diego from MUST C.P.K.  was elected as Macao's Mr. Football again after his first time in 2015. Pang Chi Hang from Benfica continues to be the best local footballer. Cheong Hoi San from Monte Carlo won the prize for“the best U23 player”. The prize for“the best shooter” was awarded to Gómez from Tak Chun Ka I with 38 goals. “The best goalkeeper” was Baptista from Benfica. Hoi Weng Hou, who led MUST C.P.K. to win the second place in the league and champion in the FA Cup respectively, was elected as the best coach. The best referee was Leong Chen Wai.

The best 11 players were: Diego Silva Patriota, Pang Chi Hang, Gois Fernandes Carlos Leonel, De Almeida Torrão, Chan Man, Lei Chi Kin, William Carlos Gomes, Ho Chi Fong, Cheang Cheng Ieong Paulo, Cheong Hoi San and Leong Chon Kit.
