Chinese National Women's Volleyball Team Regains Champion Seizes the 7th Victory in Macao

Authorized by Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, collaboratively organized by Sports Bureau and Macau-China Volleyball Association, sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited, “FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macao 2016” was held at Macau Forum from 17th June to 19th June. The beloved China team defeated Belgium, Serbia and Brazil, embracing three consecutive winning matches in this round after three years and snatching its 7th victories in Macao.

China-Brazil Match Left the World for 5 Years

China team beat Belgium in three successive sets in the first match. On the next day, China wrested the victory from the jaws of defeat in a pulsating match with Serbia that ended 3-2. With two winning games in hand, China entered a keenly fought match with Brazil. After five years since they last competed, these two warriors met again here in Macao. At the end, China’s unstoppable momentum enveloped the victory in this match with 25-23, 25-16 and 25-20 in three consecutive sets. Sweeping all of the three rivals, Chinese National Women’s Team was rewarded a great triumph in Macao again since 2013, contributing to its 7th victory in Macao.

Lang Ping: Confidence Gained from Defeating Brazil

After a total win over Brazil, the coach of China team remarked that the players’ skill of defensing and serving ball had improved, and that the win over Brazil was definitely an encouragement. She added that there was still room for players to improve their performance stability, comprehension and responding skill.   According to the team leader Hui Ruoqi, this was a precious victory over Brazil in major matches since a long time as the teammates had been training very hard and analyzing the competitors, plus that seizing a total victory in three sets was something they did not expected, and the winning games had reinforced the team’s confidence.

Serbia Gets the First Runner Up

Serbia team brought its strength into full play in Macao. It did not only overcome the fate of “being defeated by Brazil in major matches”, Serbia also beat Belgium with 3-2 and grasped the first runner up while Brazil got the second runner up.   Belgium ranked the fourth owing to its losses to three teams. After the matches finished, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Dr. Alexis Tam Chon Weng and other guests conferred the champion award on Chinese National Women’s Team.

Zhu Ting is Selected MVP

Individual awards conferment was held immediately after the matches. Zhu Ting of China team was awarded “Most Valuable Player” and “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” Award. Zhang Changning received the awards of “Best Spiker”, “Best Receiver” and “Best Blocker”, and Brazilian player Danielle Lins was awarded “Best Setter”.
