Macau Sport Development Board held a series of training courses

For continued optimization of sports facilities management and multi-functional sports venues, the Macau Sport Development Board (MSDB) not only aims to improve the various hardware facilities in the venues, but also pays great attention to daily operation management. Especially in recent years, more and more people participate in sports activities, and consequently demand for services increases. With this in mind, the MSDB has continued to arrange corresponding training courses for employees to deepen their knowledge and skills in a wide range of work levels, so that they may provide citizens with better services. The courses held this year were “Contracting-out management course” and “How to improve workplace communication skills”, respectively.

In recent years, stadiums under the Public Sports Facilities Network have continued to expand, and the number of sports facilities managed by the MSDB has also increased, and therefore some daily operations works such as security and cleaning services have been contracted out. In order to ensure the quality of the services, the MSDB cooperated with the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center for providing “Contracting-out management course” for administrative staff, aiming at that employees can master the management concept of contracting out services, including “selection process”, “monitoring measures for contracting out”, “assessment mechanism” and “evaluation methods”, so that the efficiency of contracting out management can hence be improved.

In addition, front-line services personnel always need to face the public with diverse demands. It is important for them to learn how to respond effectively and quickly to solve the problems. As a result, the  MSDB worked with the Macau Institute of Management to jointly launch the course of “How to improve workplace communication skills” to enable staff to learn how to reduce misunderstandings and enhance understandings through effective communication skills, so as to come to a mutual consensus.  Meanwhile, the course allowed employees to recognize communication problems caused by individuals and family lives under diverse working environment, along with the tips on how to handle and resolve problems properly, which helped to strengthen the team cohesion and implement the “people-oriented” service concept that the MSDB has long been adhering to, and better services could then be offered to the public.

With the continuous optimization of Public Sports Facilities Network, the MSDB will ceaselessly provide staff with training courses on a wide range of subjects, so as to ensure smooth daily operation of the sports venues, while consolidating and strengthening the knowledge of the staff to meet the needs of modernization.
