Editor’s Note

The second quarter of the year witnessed the increasingly bustling atmosphere of the sport scene. The serene banks of the Nam Van Lake were overflowing with the sound of gongs and drums which reverberated through the sky. Ripples were made on the glassy and motionless water, which marked the coming of the annual popular dragon boat races. Through “Sports News” of this issue, our readers may flash back the vitality and festivity of this grand and traditional sport event.

Talent is the foundation of social development and the Macao port Development Board attaches great importance to sport talents cultivation. In recent years, the Board has been working with the Beijing Sport University to organize Macao Sport Management Personnel Training Course to nurture local sport management talents through enriching their scientific knowledge on sports, exploring new ideas of team management and enhancing the overall quality in the areas of training, scientific research and management, so as to promote sound development in the area of sports.

In the past few months, the Macao Sport Development Board continued to organize various activities to promote the development of Sport for All, such as “Macao Sports Day for the Disabled”, “World Challenge Day”, “Family Sports Day” and “Free Sports Ground” Ball Games Competitions, etc. Details of those activities have been published in the column of this issue’s “Sport for All”, in which our readers can experience and share the fun brought by the diverse range of Sport for All activities.
