MSDB signed Sport for All Cooperation Agreement with three associations

To continue making joint contribution to Sport for All development in Macao, the Macao Sport Development Board (MSDB) held the signing ceremony for the “Sport for All Cooperation Agreement” with the General Union of Neighborhood Association of Macao, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and the Women’s General Association of Macao at the Olympic Sports Centre on 28th March.

The Macao Sport Development Board is always committed to promote Sport for All to the general public, therefore provides diverse sports activities and creates a positive sporting atmosphere to encourage public participation in sports and help form a good habit in practicing fitness exercises, so that the healthy life-style of “life-long participation in sports” can hence be achieved. In order to expand the development scope of Sport for All and deepen their services into all social sectors and communities, MSDB again reached the agreement with the three associations to co-operate in developing Sport for All in Macao. The cooperation includes subsidizing associations to organize or co-organize Sport for All activities, as well as fitness and recreational classes.

During his speech, the Acting President of the MSDB, Mr. José  Tavares addressed that a positive result has been achieved in developing Sport for All activities in Macao since signing the cooperation agreement with the three associations in 2010. To extend and increase public benefits, Mr. Tavares promised to continue maintaining a close tie with the said associations in 2014 and launch more sports activities programs in response to public needs; also, to provide more activity spaces and opportunities for sports exercising for residents from different social levels, aiming at enriching and empowering the Sport for All development in Macao so that more and more residents can be benefited.

Mr. Io Hong Meng, the Director of General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, Mr. Chan Kam Meng, the Deputy Director General of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, Ms. Lam Un Mui, the Chairwoman of the Women’s General Association of Macao, Mr. Pun Weng Kun, the Vice president of the Macao Sport Development Board, Mr. Cheang Kai Meng, representative of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Mr. Kong Chi Meng, representative of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, members of the Sports Committee and other representatives from various sports general associations attended the cooperation agreement signing ceremony.
